The Students Discussed the Problem of the Fair Evaluation of Knowledge with the Rector
Perhaps no one raises objections to the fact that a quality education is possible only under the condition of a fair assessment of student knowledge. The program “Quality Education - Fair Assessment” is actively implemented In Sumy National Agrarian University. The meeting with SNAU Rector Volodymyr Ladyka and Vice Rector for Scientific, Pedagogical and Educational Work Valerii Zhmaylov with students was dedicated to this topic.
“Nowadays the diploma isn’t that important in comparison with the real knowledge and skills acquired by the students during the study” - the SNAU Rector said – “and it is almost impossible if the evaluation of knowledge in the University is not organized properly”.
The first steps are already made in SNAU. Thus, there is a range of classrooms equipped with video and audio surveillance for passing exams and tests.
The student success indicators are factors such as the current academic records, practice revues, employment offers for undergraduates, as well as high monetary assessment at diploma defending and so on.
According to Valerii Zhmaylov absolutely all participants should benefit from fair assessment in the educational process: on the one hand, both a student and an employer who needs workers with real knowledge, not just with beautiful diplomas and on the other – our University, because highly qualified professional is the best advertising of the educational establishment.
Therefore, in the Sumy National Agrarian University where the current academic year has been declared the year to improve the quality of the educational process they do everything to ensure that this was not just fine words.
