According to Article 37 of the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education” Supervisory Board must be established in every institution of higher education. It supervises the management of the university property, its compliance with the purpose of its creation.
The Supervisory Board of the university contributes to solving future challenges of development, attracting financial resources for its activities in main directions of development and controls their use, effective interaction of higher education with state agencies and local governments, scientific community, social and political organizations and business entities for the development and improvement of the quality of its educational activities and competitiveness of the university, carries out public control over its activities, etc.
Members of the Supervisory Board are entitled to participate in the work of the highest collective body of public authorities of higher educational institution in an advisory capacity.
The Supervisory Board has the right to introduce to the highest collective body of public authorities submission of withdrawal of the head of higher educational institution on grounds provided by law, the statute of the university, contract.
The procedure of the formation of the Supervisory Board, the term of its authority, competence and procedure are determined by the statute of a higher educational institution. The composition of the Supervisory Board can not include employees of a higher educational institution.
The composition of the Supervisory Board of Sumy National Agrarian University was approved by MES Order No. 349 dated 07.03.2017.
Under this order, the chairman of SNAU Supervisory Board is Volodymyr Bykov, head of Sumy branch of the Guild of designers in construction. The Board includes 13 people.
