The Czech Partners Donated the Equipment to the SNAU as a Part of a Joint Project
In May 2017, the "Enhancement of Capacity Building Process in Quality of Education and Research at SNAU and SSU" project was launched in Sumy, Ukraine. The project is aimed at improving the higher education quality at two pilot universities in Sumy in accordance with the European Standards and Recommendations.
The project is implemented under the financial support of the Czech Development Agency. The project partners are: Czech University of Natural Sciences, Prague (Czech Republic), Centre for Higher Education Studies (Czech Republic), Sumy National Agrarian University and Sumy State University.
On December 12-15, a number of final events of the first project year took place, thus the working groups of higher educational institutions worked on improving the methodological tools for assessing the curricula quality. With the purpose of improving the teaching quality at the Labor Protection Department, the projector was donated to the SNAU, and the projector and laser distance measuring gear for the interfaculty laboratory “Canter of Precision Farming”.
Also, the project included the provision of scientific micro-grants for students and the enhancement of the functional capacity of the student's self-government of the universities. So, a number of meetings of student self-government representatives with project experts took place, where the complexities of functioning and the possibilities of their solution through the cooperation potential with Czech colleagues were discussed. On December 13-14, there also was a public reporting on the results of the implementation of students micro-grants. The best performers of the projects were awarded a cash prize - in SSU it is: Iryna Koshlata and Ihor Chernetskyi in the SNAU it is: Olha Turchenko and Hanna Hlukhodid. Next year, a micro-grant competition for the SNAU students is also expected to be launched.
In 2018, the project will also provide methodological seminars on the issues of maintaining and evaluating the quality of higher education and research, consulting and grant support for student self-government, and an international summer school.
As a result of the project, an information brochure on the quality assurance in Ukraine and the Czech Republic will be issued.
The current project is a continuation of the project "Support for the Harmonization of Implementation of the Bologna Principles in Ukrainian Agrarian Universities, case study of the Sumy NAU", which was implemented in 2015-2016.
