The international scientific summer school for the students of three universities – Sumy State University, Sumy National Agrarian University and Czech University of Live Sciences Prague was held during the period 16 – 27 th of July, 2018.
The event was organized within the framework of the joint project with Czech University of Live Sciences (Prague, Czech Republic) "ENHANCEMENT OF CAPACITY BUILDING PROCESS IN QUALITY OF EDUCATION AND RESEARCH SNAU AND SSU" carried out under the financial support of the Czech Development Cooperation. A local project coordinator is a PhD in economics, Associate Professor of the International Economics Department Ms. Oksana Zamora.
The scientific summer school named “Agri-Cooperatives and Institutions for Rural Development” was held in English and was aimed at the improvement of students’ research competencies, including writing scientific paper and presenting scientific results as well as enhancement of cultural exchange between Ukraine and the Czech Republic.
The school lasted for two weeks. During this time the participants had interactive sessions, special lectures on the development of agro-business in different countries of the world, as well as field researches at the local farms for data collection.
The students and their Czech colleagues have visited six local farms of various specialization in the Sumy region, where they got acquainted with the specific features of their functioning, and held interviews with the representatives of farms and local community.
As a result of the scientific work, the best team was awarded a grant for the research development and further publication in the international scientific journal.
