Students and postgraduate students from the PRC begin their studies at Sumy NAU
On October 9, Sumy National Agrarian University welcomed 49 undergraduates and postgraduates from the People's Republic of China who arrived to study in Ukraine.
The training will take place under the Agreement on joint postgraduate training, which was signed between Sumy National Agrarian University (Ukraine) and the Henan Institute of Science and Technology (PRC) at the beginning of the year.
The agreement involves masters' training during the first year on the basis of SNAU, the next six months it is going to provide with conducting research in China and half-year preparation for pre-defense and proper defense of master's work in Ukraine. Postgraduate education will be conducted by the following formula: the first year of study in Ukraine, two years of practical research in China and the last year of study and defense of dissertations for the degree of Ph.D. in Ukraine. To train the students properly, each student will be assigned two tutors: a SNAU lecturer will take care of theoretical and methodological training, and the HIST tutor will supervise the students while staying in China and run practical research.
It should be noted that this is the first experience of cooperation between the Ukrainian and Chinese institutions of higher education, when there is a simultaneous postgraduate training of such number of applicants in a wide range of specialties. Chinese partners have chosen to study such specialties as agronomy, gardening, food technology, veterinary medicine, management and others.
