International Affairs Office of Sumy National Agrarian University was founded in 1995. The main goals of our activity are:
- encourage academic mobility of the students of SNAU and provide them with the opportunity to raise the level of their skills in the chosen field of agriculture abroad;
- design, implement and coordinate international scientific and academic projects of the University;
- arranging and technical support of the international conferences, work-shops and symposiums on the University basis;
- involve foreign experts and students into SNAU academic process.
Language training of students, post-graduates and teaching staff is in the focus of our attention. That’s why the students have an opportunity to raise the level of their English, German, French and Polish language skills. Thus, the Linguistic Center was founded on the basis of the Department of Foreign Languages at SNAU, where lecturers of the Department and native speakers from different countries work.
During the last years we have increased the number of international programmes of academic and applied directions with the countries of Europe, America and Australia.
The foreign partners often visit the University. Every year the representatives and the personnel managers of different enterprises and partner organizations come to the university to select the students for participation in mutual projects. The trainings at the best foreign agricultural enterprises give an opportunity to gain practical experience in agriculture, to design business-plans projects and to form own modern world outlook.
During the whole period of the International Affairs Office work more than 4,000 students have had their internship abroad. Nearly 100 students of SNAU studied and got the diplomas of the leading European Educational Institutions.
International activity of the University is expanding. The Department provides the lecturers and the students with the opportunity to take internship abroad. We organize study courses for young lecturers and students in the partner universities and involve foreign experts and students into SNAU academic process.
In the context of cooperation with secondary schools we arrange the tours for school groups aimed at learning the culture of different foreign countries and making friendly contacts. The Department organizes special excursions for the staff of the agro industrial complex of Sumy Region for acquaintance with advanced technologies and modern management in agriculture in highly-developed countries.
Our activity is aimed to help the university staff to participate in the international conferences and to establish the collaboration with research institutions of the world.
